It looks like the Around the World in 80 Days ..or so...Escape is finally getting closer to Singapore.  She is the gold symbol on the left side.   I guess the Philippines is after that.  Man....what a mess for all that crew hoping to someday get home again.   The cruise mapper link will show you all cruise ship locations.   But...you already knew that.......

The “mess” was caused because the cruise line has charter flights ready to fly the crew home, but the United States would not allow the cruise line to take the crew via bus from the gangway to the door of the charter planes. So,,, around the world they go.

More accurately, any current mess is caused by the cruise lines making a decision to not comply with the US CDC order which made logistics perfectly clear months ago. Furthermore, the cruise lines failed to appropriately react and make the necessary arrangements to get their crew home. It was a financial decision to sail them home. Many ships were within a one week sail timeframe for hundreds of countries. You can argue the CDC policy is unfair and obtrusive, but at this point, the US policy has been clear for months. The US is not the reason crew are still "stuck" at sea.

Looks like the Joy  finally left Manila and is out of Manila bay into open water.  A bunch of others still there.  And a bunch either in Singapore or near by.   Weird seeing so many ships we were use to seeing docked at port stops with us now on the other side of the world from the US.

Reality Check.  A “policy” that can’t be implemented by any cruise line is obviously not a policy. No cruise line wants to incur the expense and crew inconvenience of cruising around the world.

Here's the reality. You can have your opinion, but not your own facts. They chose not to implement the policy or take the action necessary to get their people home timely. It was not financially beneficial, so they used the crew as a pawn and the US didn't cave. Lots of other options available, Canada, Bermuda, Bahamas....or maybe they outright refused them. Many of their home countries even refused them. So, the US gave them a complicated, expensive, but very real option. They chose not to implement due to the financial cost. That's fair. They continued to do nothing to correct the situation and are dealing with the "mess" that only they created by their deliberate and calculated lack of action. Yet, your position is the US is the cause of  crew still at sea due to their employer's failure to adopt and comply or take other measures since March.

We are dealing with nonresidents of the US debarking from foreign flagged vessels during a time of unprecedented pandemic. Keep it real!!

Luckily, the only country in this hemisphere that continues to accommodate all cruise lines is Barbados. Ships have been coming and going. Sometimes as many at 10 ships docked/anchored for crew repatriation. They go from ship directly to airport. Luckily Barbados has limited issues with COVID-19.

Now, Barbados is considering allowing people to work remotely in paradise:
