We Love You!!!

I hope you weren't offended over on the Tuggers thread. I read your post (and did find it interesting) but there was really no question to be answered so I thought I included you in the general 'thank you' post I did a couple of posts after yours. Didn't mean to ignore you, but you'll find it happens on here. You post then a couple of other people post and you get lost so no reply!

Don't go away!

Hey girl!

Pick up your chin!

Don't worry about starting a thread, jump on board and reply to a bunch of them!

I am around a bunch on the Celebrity and RCI boards, have not run into your name before (shows how many folks populate this palce).

Have you ever taken your dog with you on a cruise?

Hi Roz - I don't believe I've ever "talked" to you directly, but you seem like a very nice person.:) I have found that it's very easy to have a post lost on a thread that many people are posting to, it happens all the time. Don't let it upset you or make you think people here don't care about you or what you have to say. I have found the people on cruise critic to be a wonderful bunch.

Welcome aboard and, in time, if you get involved...a whole group of people will begin dislike you. Then you know you're CrCr family...I KNOW ;) !!!

I've noticed your posts lately and read them with great interest!

We're a dog loving family with 4 newfies and a french bulldog - so anyone that has a dog as a companion piques my interest!

I just never replied directly to anything you said, because there weren't any questions... doesn't mean I haven't noticed you though.

We're new to cruising... our first is coming up in 15 days to the Panama Canal. Yeah!!

So nice to meet you, look forward to chatting and don't be offended if people don't respond directly. It seems that the board is a little like my house... whoever screams the loudest is the one who is heard... so don't be offended if sometimes your voice gets lost in the din of the board.:)

Hello,

Bringing a black labrador on a cruise ship would probably make you lots of friends. I have worn hearing aids for 55 years and one of the great things about cruising is that I can wear my hearing aids as much or as little as I want.

Above all though do not let any sort of a disablity dissuade from going on a cruise. As you know, persons with disabilities can adapt to new surroundings very quickly with a little help.

Take care,

Fred

Hi roz! I care, too. I'm hearing impaired but don't have a licensed hearing dog. I have two Papillons and my intent was/is to train them - in preparation for the day when my hearing aids can no longer compensate for my diminishing hearing. Papillons are supposed to be brilliant and very trainable. Our two seem to want to please, but, like true pack animals, the younger and larger one thinks it is his station in life to let the entire province know that someone is within two miles of our driveway. Even after we've "thanked" him for letting us know and commanded him to stop 'talking' he usually thinks he has to have the last word. Of course, it doesn't help that our other Pap (our original Papillon who is a 6 pound weakling) contributes his two cents to the situation, causing the 22 pound Papillon to again want to have the last word. I don't think either of them is ready for a cruise -- despite the fact that I am.:D

I'm not a tall blonde. Short and dark haired -- although every once in a while a light hair (I can pretend it's blonde) appears on my head. I'd like to be interesting, but I'll settle for being interested. I love to cruise. I love to laugh (although sometimes inappropriately and, apparently, too loud). I also try not to answer every thread, because it is far to easy for me to write too much or to go off topic -- but I digress. :D

Welcome to the board. Tell your beautiful big black lab that 6 pound Casey and 22 pound Buddy send their regards.

Terry:)

Hey Terry

Those "light" hairs of yours? I call mine "spontaneous silver highlights" - they're way cheaper than the salon kind, and last forever - can't beat that deal.

I hope you and Doug are doing well and planning another cruise soon.

Brenda

PS Roz - sorry to hijack your thread - I couldn't resist saying hi to Terry, who we met on the Constellation a few years back. Rest assured, a tall blonde and a black lab are sure to be popular on board, and you'll have lots of fun.

Black Lab? Black Lab?

I love you already. I am the proud owner of several champion Labs....all yellow. I am on the third generation of my own breedings. I show in conformation, obedience and my stud dogs all attain their WC titles.

We have a lot in common....Labradors....cruising, and yes, I have some silver too. But I pay good money to get it "blended." ;-)

I hope you are on the cruise I am (Millennium 0 May 14 - Barcelona to Venice) I sure would love to meet you and your wonderful Lab. I love these dogs even though I do not have one now. They are the most friendly, obedient, and loving breed of dogs. I would have no other! You would be the highlight of any cruise ship you choose with your black lab.

It was a trap Danno. For a winter weary Canadian.

You fell face first into the snow drift.

Maybe we could have made book on you falling for that.

Get me Janet Jones on the phone!!!!

I wish I could bring my service dog onboard, he's a 110# Bouvier de Flanders and he'd come in OH so useful for keeping the buffet lines in order as he just can't help but "herd". :)

Oh and he does dance, but only with me as he's a leaner. ps he also seems to think he's a lap puppy

You though you were going to train a Papillon :D !! As well as Jib we have a great little Papillon named Calypso...who has done a wonderful job of training us. She, however, would seem to be as far from trainable as imaginable.

Hi Danno, I know, it was really silly of me:rolleyes:. What's worse is that I had done so much research before selecting that breed. The breeder has no problem training her Paps. (for the last twenty years). Give Jib a scratch behind the ears and tell Cally that Casey and Buddy send their rambunctiousness to her. (I wish)

roz: It's not really a hijack. You mentioned your dog, I mentioned my dogs, but didn't mention my 12-1/2 year old Siamese cat. BrendaJ has a sweet little Siamese cat. You, BrendaJ and I all love cruising(had to get this post back on Topic). All three of us like to laugh. As I said, it's not really a hijack since you met another poster and that is the object of your post, right?:D

While we are on the topic of cruising (on a cruise board?) Who's going where next? Danno, you and Jill are off later this month, right? Brenda are you EB or WB on the TransAtlantic? roz, are you sticking with the Summit or trying a different ship for your next cruise? tuggers aren't you sailing soon, too? What about the rest of you? In answer to BrendaJ's question, e are not currently planning another cruise. Doug's still reeling over the last adventure. (no, Danno, he wasn't fishing off the aft deck--or flying a kite from there either) Oh, oh, now I've hijacked roz's thread. I'm really sorry. (but I did warn you I write too much and digress, too)

roz: what's your four footed escort's name?

No AC screwups this time?

So far so good...:D . I have a good feeling about this cruise (touch wood)...I'm really looking forward to having another couple along. I may regret this decision, but we are very comfortable with Dave and Dale, and it won't amount to 10 days of "baby-sitting" for me and Jill...although I find Dave and I drink too much beer when we sail together (at anchor)...this might not be a good decision after all

:p You guys are amazing....I came to work today feeling so down:( Then I read your threads....Thank you, thank you for making my Friday!! I'm really smiling now! See how easy I am! "Brenda" (the wonder dog) and I will be on the Mercury on September 25th to the Pacific Northwest. We're making it a road/cruise trip. Driving from L.A. to Seattle, then stopping on the way home to visit friends and family, in Livermore. I can't wait! You all deserve big hugs and licks for your warm and wonderful responses! Don't forget to toast each other! Live, Love and Laugh! You all are so special! Have a great weekend!

Paws and refresh,

Roz:)

Roz, maybe you didn't see my message. My husband travels with his own wonder dog, Hero, who is a Guide Dog for the Blind. I don't know how much experience you and Brenda have with cruising, but there are a lot of requirements for ports outside the US and Mexico. I'd be happy to send you an email about what you have to do to travel with a dog. If you haven't been to the Caribbean yet, every island has different rules.

The second time Hero cruised with Celebrity, they very kindly built him a dog house on deck four. Our room was on deck nine. Besides that, Hero had never seen a doghouse before anyway. Blind guy, guide dog, seems like they ought to stick together. Oh, well, it was a nice thought.

Hero is a handsome black lab. Maybe one day we'll cruise together, and he and Brenda can get to know each other.

Puppies!!!!

If anyone wants to cruise with a 8 month old, very energetic, rubbery, Border Collie (we think)...Jib is available, Cally could use the rest.
