 per person per day - not a bank breaker, but a nice meal or a few extra drinks.  In my opinion well worth clicking the prepay button and not having to actually pay until final payment is due.

Actually not the only advantage, it is in effect a guarantee to not having an increase as when they increase them if you have selected to prepay them, even if they are not actually paid (not past final payment date) they honor the original price.

I should have been more clear, the only advantage "to me". I do recognize that there may be advantages for other people (such as using discounted gift cards). Gratuities don't increase that often that I'm that concerned about it (and usually there is enough notice that if I do have a cruise booked I could add them if necessary).
