It is my first time that I use internet at ncl. Only used it at msc ( at Yachtclub inclusive ). I think the MSc internet was faster.

the internet is slow. A German blogger said that he couldn’t upload insta videos too or had problems with that.

the internet is not fast. More slow.

From what I understand, the ship sailing in the far northern latitudes does not help with all the satellites being over the equator.  We'll see next month how it is when the Caribbean sailings begin.

RCL partnering with StarLink is a smart move and may force other lines to upgrade.  Internet access is too ingrained in most people's day to day now that it's almost impossible to disconnect.

Just watched 2bdrm Haven on YouTube. I’m underwhelmed. I’ve stayed in 2bdrm many times before & this seems so small. I don’t see a vanity area with hairdryer & mirror separate sitting area. Living area is small too. Hoping more videos are going to be posted soon.

I saw a star link map on another thread and it doesn’t cover either of the poles or the arctic. No service in Iceland, Greenland etc.

How would you describe the internet speed on Prima?  Similar to other NCL ships or better or worse?  A You Tuber is on the cruise and gave it lousy review saying the wifi was off frequently.  He seemed a bit too negative.

Thanks

Tom

Was he on the inaugural cruise or on the current cruise? On the inaugural cruise streaming was blocked off as everyone had free WiFi. Anyway it was pretty slow and we frequently were cut off and had to build up the connection again. Uploading Instagram reels was slow but worked. I basically did my Insta stories which sometimes was really slow. So each time we´ve been in port I switched to my much faster mobile data plan.

Not really comparable but I´ve been on the Pride of America in May. Onboard Wifi was pretty slow so I relied on my mobile data (as I had a US sim card with 5 GB for the trip, for the Norwegian Prima I could use my German mobile data plan as all ports had EU roaming - still available in the UK).

If it is the same review I saw, he is onboard now. He is using port stops to upload the content for his channel.

I sort of like them.  They are different though.  The Master bedroom appears to be very large, just as big as an owners suite.  Gone is the bathroom/shower with the ocean picture window though.  However you get a giant balcony that goes across both the master bedroom and living room.  The second bedroom is a real bedroom with a real bed.  Adults no longer have to sleep in a bunk bed. The second bathroom is so nice too.  Notice these suites now sleep 6 instead of 5.   The sofa pulls out with a real mattress that sleeps 2.   The living room is a bit smaller but you get that long hallway that makes it feel larger IMHO.  Its a much more practical use of space that most families will appreciate.  Those that only traveled with one guest maybe will miss the giant marble bar, bathroom with picture window, etc.  But I think most people will appreciate the extra space where its needed.....the bedrooms.

That is what my gf & I do. I usually have the bigger bedroom & bath. But she gets it this time. She’s going to be a little sad about it. It is perfect for families tho. I saw the owners suite with 2nd bed but most suites on my sailing were sold out.

I miss the bathtub the most. 2 small showers are a downgrade. But everything else is an improvement.

NCL is removing many of the tubs from existing ships.  Suites on the Pearl had tubs removed in favor of a nice walk in shower.  For my wife it was a good move, she has trouble stepping over the tub to get into the shower.

I've always wanted the 2 bedroom just because of the tub and shower looking out the window.  That would be so relaxing and fun. But I do like the two large bedrooms too.

No knowledge of "Steff's" sex but let's just say that the men's room on the pool deck of the Dawn also has a similar window and I am definitely a woman......Have photos of several of us in there very late at night checking out their window. (We did make sure it was vacant at the time.) 😂 🙃

Unfortunaltey Melitta would be immediately associated with the coffee brand here in Germany.

Actually my first name is very popular in Spain too but my parents thought about the Latin meaning - Carmen.
