Can anyone confirm if there is a fire pit (propane) on the Prime ?. I thought I saw one of on one of the first videos.

I can confirm there is no fire pit - at least not yet.

This is the area shown on the renderings on the Indulge Outdoor Area.

Everyone has been very quiet recently.  I have a friend who claims there are some posts with damages on the ship. Cracked slides, Cracked Ocean walk glass, cracked mirrors.  Anyone have any info on what is happening?  Makes me think this is the Enterprise-A at the beginning of Star Trek V  Yikes!  Or is it fake news?

I was on the 10/15 sailing. At the Waves Bar, five (5) of the bar stools were broken. They were wrapped in yellow caution tape. Furthermore, there are only 6 elliptical machines in the Fitness Center. Four were out of order. I don't do water slides and drops but was told by a few cruisers that the The Drop was out of order.

You don't do water slides and drops...nothing wrong with that, of course, but why would multiple people just walk up to you just to tell you whether or not the slide was operational? Kind of like telling someone with no kids that the Splash Academy is closed.

I have read many of your posts and this is your typical modus operandi. You weren't on the cruise but you came to the conclusion that other cruisers "walked up to me ..." To help you out, I spent several days in the covered hot tub near Waves Bar. You would obviously be surprised that cruisers converse with each other in the hot tubs.

One of the glass walkway panels cracked during the 10/15 sailing from NYC to Galveston.  The photo I saw showed a ton of cracks within the panel.  Nothing came apart, probably as designed.

Unfortunately, little hiccups like this are common with new ships especially when a ship is the first in the class....and Fincantieri seems to have a few more hiccups than Meyer Werft.

I can only go by what information you shared...the rest I have to infer. So I guessed wrong on how the conversation started. Just like how you guessed wrongly that I'd be surprised that people converse while in the hot tubs.

Perhaps if that is your line in the sand, you might want to be consider being more clear in the future. Had you bothered to mention the hot tub conversation in your initial post, then I wouldn't have had to come to a conclusion in the first place.

However, it is still odd that people feel the need to give you information on something that you yourself stated that you did not use onboard.

Come on, the bolded is silly. I am not a gambler but on the same cruise, I talked with a Casinos at Sea cruiser in the hot tub. Among other things, on one occasion, he told me that so far, he was a little ahead. On another occasion, he told me he lost $400 the night before and he was kind of sad. Even though I don't believe in a game of chance, I find tidbits like this very interesting ... what makes people tick ... what they enjoy or don't.

I was pleased when Carnival recently shifted their new builds (starting with the Mardi Gras) to Meyer Turku from their long time builder: Fincantieri. Perhaps it was just me, but anything they had built there seemed a bit cheaper. Not sure why they switched, but glad they did. Of course, what do I know !!

I wonder if all these broken things would explain why the Prima didn't leave Galveston until about 11pm last night.  Hopefully they spent all that time fixing everything.

No, it was a scheduled 12 midnight departure as part of the Galveston programming for the Inaugural.

Yes, the walkway did crack on the port side. It's been blocked off and they're in contact with Ficantieri to get a new panel flown over to the ship. It might take some time to fix...

Someone above mentioned broken bar stools... yes, also correct. Waves Bar is down to just 2 stools, and some are gone completely.

Some of the tables in the outdoor part of Indulge are also out of commission.

Vibe lost 7 bar stools over the last 12 days, as well as some loungers where the arms came off.

After spending 34 days on the ship, it was interesting to see the decline of some areas.

Wow!  I was on the TransAtlantic.  Weather was too cold and windy to use the outdoor areas so those items didn’t even have more than a couple weeks usage.  I don’t know how you can blame all hose broken chairs and stools on new ship kinks.  I hope there is a good warranty on the items.

The words we use to paint a picture...that is what I find interesting. One minute its "tidbits" and another minute it turns to "typical modus operandi". So you met someone in a hot tub who feels comfortable sharing their financial gains and losses with you. Who amongst us hasn't had the same experience?

Its almost as interesting as the mental gymnastics that people display in online forums. I find that to be interesting too. Especially given the ease at which some of the routines spring to life.

FWIW - my final payment was due tomorrow. I opted to save the $14k and skip the Prima for now - just seems a poor value (to only have 250 minutes of internet and a "regular" drink package to boot)... oh well !

Tom

Th internet on Prima was the worst I have experienced in 20 cruises dating back to 2012.  And I prefer the smaller ships which have older equipment.  I really expected better.  I wonder how long the moving chairs in the theater will last before falling apart?

I do hope they come up with a solution for this soon.  I too was very surprised at the lack of speed compared to my experience on the Bliss and Escape pre-Covid.

Definitely not a "new ship kink"... I think it comes down to commercial/patio furniture. Seems they went for the look over the usage... aka, form over function. All the furniture would look lovely on my patio, but certainly not ready for hundreds of "butts" per week on a ship surrounded by salt air! I was on for the crossing too, and didn't really get a good look at the outdoor areas until we got to Halifax, Bermuda and finally the Caribbean, where it was really heavily used!

Read this in a FB group too and it was confirmed by other group members. There was a talk about one or two small engine room fires and multiple black outs in The Haven suites (with full lights on when the power came back in the middle of the night).

"The Drop" is one of the new attractions on the Norwegian Prima and it´s a dry slide not a water slide. So of course the people are talking about it because they wanted to try it out.

Although I do like the sustainable cocktails it´s not that I want them every night. Also the more or less 5 cocktails at the Whiskey Bar were very nice. But they definitely should "upgrade" the Belvedere Bar with a full bar menu. The Penrose Bar is way to small and also serves the casino. So to have a larger range of cocktails we ended up in the Observation Bar at night which was almost empty. I also like the new cocktails at the Vibe Beach Bar. But I prefer my cocktails in proper glasses (which can be non breakble but not the single use plant based cups). As a martini lover I did miss a bar with a wider range of martinis. The former signature cocktails are more or less all gone - Rebellious Fish, the various mojitos...

The Indulge Food Hall is great but as well as the Surfside Café it´s a bit too small. There are only a few outside tables which are suitable for eating (although the outside area is pretty large). The Soleil Bar is also a great place but also with limited bar menu and those cups...

I assume we have to wait and see whether the bar concept and the food concept (especially the not changing menu in Hudson´s and Commodore Room) will work out.

I totally agree about the cocktails! I had typed a longer reply but it disappeared. Oh well.
