Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the Pitons again, love it!   Was the beginning snorkeling in Bonaire. only place we haven't snorkeled in the ABC islands.

Yes it was, we went out with Woodwind Cruises. It was short walk from the cruise pier

When we went to curacao we took the local bus to the other end of the island as we were told there was great snorkeling there, takes one hour out and one hour back so bus driver told us to be at the top of the stairs in 2 hours (stairway picture on left in our signature) there used to be some kind of resort there but all there was left was rubble and the stairway, very picturesque overlooking many colored little fishing boats, no one around, great snorkeling. 

About an hour 45 minutes after arriving I thought we should head up the stairs, when we got to the top of the stairs the bus was just starting to pull away, he stopped and we got on or it would have been another 2 hours til the next bus and we would have missed the ship!  

The locals were all looking at us during both trips as it was a long ride through the mountains and we were the only ones that weren't locals, no houses around for most of trip, locals would just get off and disappear into the woods. 

We love to go off the beaten bath, if you have a stop in Dominica be sure to take the local bus (van) to Scotts Head, a bit of a walk from drop off spot but well worth it, looks even more beautiful than the pics on line.  Bus trip is an adventure in itself, all locals, driver stops at bakery, runs in, buys stuff that people on bus want, collects money, drives on, drives up side of mountain, lady gets out and brings covered dish down lane to house, hops back on bus, all sorts of things happen, made some wonderful friends in a short time, lots of fun as long as you make it back to ship!!!
