CRUISING ALONG Posted September 17, 2020 #1 Β Share Posted September 17, 2020 Here is the latest from Celebrity Cruises website: Β CELEBRITY CRUISES EXTENDS GLOBAL SUSPENSION OF CRUISING Β Monday, September 14th, 2020 Our primary goal continues to be a healthy return to service for our guests, crew and the communities we visit. Therefore, in alignment with theΒ Australian GovernmentβsΒ recent decision to extend the suspension of cruise tourism in the region,Β Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises will be suspending all sailings departing from Australia and New Zealand on orΒ before December 31, 2020. We will be reaching out to our guests and travel partners to share further details and address any questions or concerns they may have. Rare MicCanberra Posted September 17, 2020 #2 Β Share Posted September 17, 2020 Cheers, this is likely to include Azamara as well. Mind you I don't know why they wouldn't just ride off the entire summer season here, it is unlikely the government will allow them to come before April 2021 anyway.

Sadly yes, even if the govt gave permission to start cruising at the end of December ( at the earliest) it would probably take the cruise lines at least 6 or 8 weeks to get crew ,provisions etc organised not Β mention a 14 day quarantine and getting the ships here so the back end of Feb would be the earliest which only leaves a month and a half of the SummerΒ cruise season left. Bring on2021/22 season. π’π’π’

Some suppliersΒ , growers, etc need a whole season to gear up and provide the quantity required.
