travel insurance for very expensive and long world cruises

We are planning to go on a 6-month-long cruise in 2022. We are having trouble finding trip cancellation insurance that will cover the amount paid and the length of time. Someone suggested buying four policies to cover it, but didn't say how to do this. We have medical coverage for the trip, but really want cancellation/interruption coverage as well.

Any ideas? Thanks

Here is a link for a insurance company that is highly recommended on the Regent Seven Seas forum.  The owner Steve has posted on the forum answering questions.  We haven't personally used them as our circumstances are different in Canada.

If you go to the Regent forums and do a search you should find many discussions regarding insurance and in particular i know there was a thread that had extensive discussions on insurance for world cruises.

Good luck in your search.

Mary229,

Could you just give me a general idea of how you solved covering the cancellation situation.  We are booked on a 73 day Regent cruise but it does not sail until October 31, 2022 and the deposit amount is considerable not to mention the final payment amount which is due 5 months before the cruise.

We also used Steve for medical insurance while we are on the trip but all payments that are given to the cruise line prior to the embarkation day are, at the moment, almost totally unprotected.  The only solution seemed to be to purchase a full comprehensive policy which will cost about 15% of the full cost of the trip and that is hard to accept.  The only cancellation coverage we have at the moment is about $10,000 per person through the Chase Sapphire Reserve card which doesn't make much of a dent.   Thanks.
