The flight to Fort Lauderdale was uneventful which in my eyes is a good thing. We arrived at the airport grabbed our luggage and Uber’d on our way to Miami. We stayed at the Holiday at the Port of Miami. Sorry but I didn’t get any pics of the hotel or room. We went to our room and where we dropped our luggage off and we went across the street to Bayside Marketplace. There are plenty of places to eat here. We arrived just in time for a short fireworks display. We decided on some ceviche and drinks. I ordered the my first of many Painkillers of the trip. Miss Zen went with a Miami Vice. We had a second round of drinks and called it a night. Just joined your trip!..Love your photos and review. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn at the port of Miami. We loved it. If I find any photos of the hotel room I will post them.
zencruisers Posted October 21, 2020 Author #27 Share Posted October 21, 2020 We scored boarding group 7. We were at the terminal early so we had to wait about 45 minutes before they started boarding. Faces that are ready to cruise. On our way to board the ship. The anticipation of boarding is peaking!

zencruisers Posted October 21, 2020 Author #29 Share Posted October 21, 2020 As soon ask we boarded we hit the bar at O’Sheehan’s for a drink. The first of many Painkillers of the cruise. My go to drink! Soon the restaurant portion of O’Sheehan’s opened so we decided to get something to eat. Cheers to a great cruise with good friends! I spy another Painkiller. 🙂 A happy Zen couple.

I have done all of the research possible for those so now I am looking at 2023 and considering the Jewel Panama Canal cruise.

zencruisers Posted October 22, 2020 Author #36 Share Posted October 22, 2020 At 2 o'clock the rooms were ready. We had and 8th floor mid ship balcony room. I can't remember the exact room number. We unpacked out luggage quickly. Looking for people boarding late. s. After unpacking we decided to check out Spice H20. Miss Zen is enjoying a vodka and cranberry. zencruisers Posted October 22, 2020 Author #39 Share Posted October 22, 2020 It was soon time to head to the Muster Drill. We passed by the Ice Bar but unfortunately we never went there. You can tell by our expressions that it was an exciting Muster Drill. 🙂 After that was over it was back to the pool deck for the sail away party. The last we will see of Miami for 7 days! Before we knew it we were out at sea!
zencruisers Posted October 23, 2020 Author #40 Share Posted October 23, 2020 After the sail away party it was time to relax and just explore a bit. I spy Miami Vices. 🙂 Time to take a look at the water slides. I am not sure what this slide is called but I call it The Elevator Drop. You stand up at the top and then the floor drops out and "Whooosh!! " down you go. What a rush! Here you get a glimpse of the walking track. I am not a fan of the layout for this. It is too short and too much congetstion. We decided to go back to room to get ready for dinner. Along the way we stopped to check out the chandelier again.
zencruisers Posted October 23, 2020 Author #41 Share Posted October 23, 2020 We got back to the room to get ready for dinner but first we went out on the balcony to watch the sunset. To say the least we were not disappointed. d.
zencruisers Posted October 23, 2020 Author #42 Share Posted October 23, 2020 We met are friends Mark and Michelle at the elevators so we could go down to dinner together, While looking up at the chandelier. Wouldn't you know that the there was a bar between us and dinner. :-). We are putting the drink package to good use already. We finally made it to The Tropicana Room. Some bad pictures of the menu. On our way to How At The Moon. Howl At The Moon is always a good time!
zencruisers Posted October 24, 2020 Author #43 Share Posted October 24, 2020 (edited) After Howl At The Moon we decided to call it it night. I am a early riser so i was up early to watch the sunrise. I love that time of day while watching everything on the ship come to life. Below I am standing out on the balcony seeing what the day is to bring. After that I cruised around the upper decks checking things out. This bar in right by the entrance to The Vibe. zencruisers Posted October 26, 2020 Author #44 Share Posted October 26, 2020 While checking out the upper decks i got to see a water spout. That's not something I get to see every day while living in Arizona! Soon Miss Zen was up and about and we hit the Omelette station at the Buffet. After breakfast we headed up to the upper decks to see what the day had in store for us. That is Cuba in the background. We spent most of the day out by the pool enjoying the reggae band and making the best of the drink package. I didn't get any pics of our day at the pool. That night we ate at Savor which is one of the MDR's. Our Friends Mark & Michelle. Miss Zen loves Miami Vice's. After a nice relaxing dinner it was off to see Burn The Floor. Miss Zen agrees! Burn The Floor was a good show and the dancing was very good. After the show we went up to Norwegian's Night Out but it was rained out at the outdoor venue(Spice H20). We were pretty tired from a day in the sun so we decided to to call it a night. When we got back to the cabin we were greeted by out towel animal. Tomorrow is Roatan, Honduras.
TSUmom Posted October 26, 2020 #45 Share Posted October 26, 2020 We were on the Getaway in 2018. I enjoyed the ship. Oh wait I enjoy ANY ship. I see in your signature you have the Breakaway booked for 2021, we will be on her in August and I am really looking forward to it. Like you I am an early riser and I love watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Not many people wandering around the ship and it is so peaceful.

When we were on the Getaway there was no reggae band. Closest they got was a DJ playing Reggae tunes by the pool (and that just aint the same). zencruisers Posted November 1, 2020 Author #47 Share Posted November 1, 2020 Sorry for the delay in continuing the review. I keep all of my photos on Amazon and I was having trouble accessing them, I think I have it all figured out now. So where were we? Oh yeah. Today will be in our favorite place which is Roatan, Honduras We woke up to what looked to be a cloudy day. Let see what the day has in store for us. . I see Roatan! As we we pulling up to the dock you can see some blue sky. Today we are going to Tabyana Beach in West Bay. Our friend are doing the Tabyana Beach & Gumbalimba Preserve. We had done that excursion a few years ago and told them that they would not be disappointed.
zencruisers Posted November 2, 2020 Author #48 Share Posted November 2, 2020 It was about a 20-25 minute bus ride to Tabyana Beach in West Bay. This is the second time we have been to West Bay in Roatan and we think it is a beautiful beach with great snorkeling. Our friends excursion starts at the animal preserve then comes over to Tabyana Beach so we told them we would find a nice spot with loungers. There were plenty of loungers available so we had no problem getting a group of 4. Miss Zen & I brought our own snorkeling equipment so we did and little snorkeling and had a few drinks before out friends Mark & Michelle arrived. Our friends had a great time at the Gumbalimba Preserve with the animals. They really liked how they let the monkeys get on you. We then went to the buffet that was included in the price of the excursion. It was your standard bbq chicken with rice and beans but it did hit the spot, Mark and I wanted go out and snorkel for a while. The water was pretty rough and it looked like there might be a storm heading in later. We had a guide in kayak with us who was the same guy Miss Zen and I went with last time we were here. It was little rough with the wind picking up. We had been out about 15 mins and when we started seeing a lot of jelly fish. Our guide said the storm must be pushing them in. We stayed out about another 10 minutes before deciding to call it a day. When we got back to shore we went to the bar for a few drinks. Soon it was time to go back to the ship. They have buses running back and forth often so we only had to wait about 10 minutes for the next bus. We did a little of shopping at the port before getting back on the ship. One more look at our ship before getting back aboard.
