For example, the 2-meal package is for 2 meals for each person. However, the Specialty Dinners are for the first two guests in each cabin. If more than two people in a cabin, the additional guests will not be given the Free at Sea meal benefit. They must purchase all their specialty meals. Below chart shows number of Free at Sea Specialty meals given for various cruise lengths
Biffire Posted January 8, 2021 #28 Share Posted January 8, 2021 Hi Captain, I remember getting 3 nights of FAS specialty dining on my last few cruises. When did they back it down to two? I can't find it on the website. Disappointing, I have always enjoyed the MDR, but it seems they have cut back there as well. Having 3 nights of FAS specialty dining was a welcome break. We finally made platinum when we got of our last cruise March first, hopefully I get to use that benefit, do they still give 2 more free Specialty meals with that ? Here is the link to NCL's published promotional terms which includes how many dinners you get for different lengths of sailings: https://www.ncl.com/termsandconditions/promotions The Latitudes tier listing still shows Platinum as receiving two specialty dinners, dinner for two at Cagney's or Le Bistro and dinner for two at Moderno or La Cucina. DLTcard Posted January 11, 2021 #31 Share Posted January 11, 2021 How does the up charge at Ocean Blue work? One video I watched said it was just a $10 up charge for your “free” speciality meal. The menu I saw shows a up charge for certain items (like $25 for a $39 lobster, seems like a terrible deal). Can someone who has done this let me know. Rare ColeThornton Posted January 11, 2021 #33 Share Posted January 11, 2021 I'm not sure I would put much stock into what the terms and prices say at this point. So many things are up in the air right now until cruising restarts and their is some sense of "normalcy". Lines are going to have to be creative to make customers think it's still a good deal while they do a money grab. Like the old line from The Godfather: "It's not personal, it's strictly business". 😉

I do believe the $10 up charge at Ocean Blue is gone (or was gone prior to the shutdown), the up charge on certain entrees simple works by if you are dining on the specialty package, when you order an entree with an up charge, that charge is put on your onboard account. All your other dinner items, appetizer, salad, dessert do not get added, only the published supplement charge for your entree. It's up to you if you want to order and pay the extra.
