flatcircle Posted December 31, 2020 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2020 While planning a family multigenerational cruise, we ran into a few questions that we're hoping someone on this site can answer. Many children in our family have the same names as their parents (or other older adults). Worrying about someone picking up the wrong card, are the children's cards different than one for an adults? (different color, or other designation)? Everyone will have the signature drink package. Are the under 21 cards flagged to only allow non-alcoholic drinks? TIA for any info you can share... Been There, Planning That Posted December 31, 2020 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2020 Our family too shares names. I cannot remember colours for cards but a few times the child was charged the adult rate on excursions. Just be sure to check charges. Errors were quickly corrected but it was a nuisance lining up with passports to prove the error. Ruth
Rare Roz Posted January 1, 2021 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2021 The under 21 cards will not allow the purchase of alcoholic drinks.
dropframe Posted January 2, 2021 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2021 Simple. Just get a Sharpie/Magic Marker or a sticker (kids love their stickers) and write their names (or let the kids decorate their own card.) Problem solved. 2
SouthAltaCruisingFamily Posted January 2, 2021 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2021 (edited) When our kids were younger we gave them breakaway lanyards to avoid loss of cards, dropping it out of their pocket, arguing over whose card it was, or even cards being blown overboard from the wind. One child had a dinosaur lanyard and the other one had tractors on theirs which made it very easy and fun for them. There are a variety of lanyards, name badge holders, or even a combo of lanyard and card holder. Perhaps look into specific colors or styles for each member of your party? I believe the server sees a photo of the key card holder every time a purchase is rung up. You may have the children's cards barred from charging anything. Parents have been surprised how much a dozen sodas per day or a bunch of video games can cost. Some (all?) kids have to wear ID bracelets with their lifeboat number. Hard to order a martini with that on your wrist. Edited January 2, 2021 by whogo 1
