For the foreseeable future, no one can fly to Europe for a land vacation let alone a cruise. Since Europeans cannot fly to the US and Canada that ban will likely remain in effect though the end of the year,  Europe is not going to allow Americans and Canadians in as a reciprocal move.

Fear you may be right but still holding out faint hope for our Oct/Nov in the Med. Vaccine availability should be much improved by summer.

 

Something I don't understand is how much flexibility individual Schengen countries have on admitting tourists, and how much flexibility non-Schengen-but-still-EU/EEA countries have as well.

I’ll wait and see what the actual announcement says. In an accompanying piece to that article, England is talking about opening on June 15, and people were booking vacations to Greece.

 

We need to see actual dates, not vague comments.

I've heard that Viking has completed one, any others ?

Viking has installed testing facilities on all ocean ships and will require daily testing of all passengers and crew, according to their website.
