1. Find a new carry-on bag with smoothly rolling wheels that does not flip over on its side every few steps.

 

2. Find really, truly comfortable dressy shoes for formal and smart casual nights.

 

3. Find a light weight, non-bulky, yet roomy bag to carry on excursions. Must hold sunglasses case, money, Sun Pass, ID, sun cream, lip gloss, or whatever I may want.

 

4. Load up on mini sizes of shampoo, conditioner, hair setting lotion, hand cream, etc.

 

5. Climb up and down multiple flights of stairs nearly daily in order to build up stamina and endurance for stairs on board. Build up to climbing twelve flights without having chest pain and gasping for breath like a hundred year old.

2. Leave your family your flight itinerary, ships info(tel #, name, schedule)

3. Put a piece of paper in each luggage giving your itinerary-name etc.

4. stop mail, "stop bills", stop paper

5. Get medical release forms for the kids (they aren't going with us this time! Have other stuff ready, such as directions to school, cash for dinners out for kids and relatives coming to stay with them.

1. Make two xerox copies of your cruise tickets, your passport/other IDs, the credit card you plan to take, and any other important documents. Place these copies in two separate suitcases.

 

2. Call your credit card company and let them know you'll be using your card out of the country. (This may not never cause you trouble, but if it should . . . oh, my!)

 

3. Take time to call and verify all your plans: your airline flight, your pre-cruise hotel, your rental car for the islands. A minute's call can save much hassle later. Print out your reservations and take them with you.

 

4. Spend a few minutes talking to your children about your expectations for their behavior, spending, etc. prior to the cruise.

 

5. Be sure to bring a good attitude. Don't let little setbacks ruin a long-awaited vacation!

2. Make air reservations for people coming from all over ( this is a surprise anniversary cruise for my parents (43) my partners parents (50) and our anniversary (10).

3. coordinate hotels and travel so the friends and family that are coming to surprise will not be seen HOPEFULLY until dinner that first night.

4. pay off some of my credit card so I can fill it back up again.

5. book my well deserved and highly anticipated massage.:D

Check your passport expiration date. Some of the Caribbean countries require that your passport not expire for at least 6 months from time you'll be on their island. We're waiting for ours to come back. Did not realize the rule until docs arrived. We sail 03/11/2006..

dont forget to call and let your credit card companies know you'll be out of the area so they dont put a lock out on your account when "mysterious" foriegn purchases are made.

6) Hide money for the kids. Half way through the week you email them and tell them where it is. We all know that the kids will spend all the money on the first day!

I'm still a ways out from my cruise so here is my list:

 

1) pay off cruise balance w/TA

2) pay off credit card balance (so I can run it up again on the cruise!)

3) research ports of call

4) attempt to get a tan (ha ha ha)

5) maintain a sense of normalcy for the next 300+ days ;)

Cruise is a mere 11 sleeps away - Eastern Caribbean

 

1. Phone credit card company (it's on one of my many to-do lists somewhere)

 

2. Get $s for daughter staying home. Give niece more $s to give to daughter cause she'll spend it within the first couple days.

 

3. Get $s for us -- need to exchange Canadian to American ... oh, and where did I leave that left over money from the last cruise :rolleyes:

 

4. Change the wills and get them re-signed because my step father is sueing :mad: me so he's out of the will

 

5. Get the list of #s, insurance policies, work contacts etc so my niece knows what to do in an emergency, which isn't going to happen :)

Hard to narrow down to five things. I have a million. For first time not worried about work!

 

5. Exercise each day for 2 hours and remain 6 week diet.

4. Get all clothes ready, and thus all suitcases.

3. Get house ready, including cancelling all newspaper. Mail can stack up in big box, it will only be 5 days worth (we don't have a mail box :eek: ).

2 Verify all reservations and verify that DD does not need passport (we have BC and expired passport for her).

1 Relax and not be a nagging mother and wife for 6 days.

Once I have completed the following things, I know it is time to go!

 

1. get my nails done

2. get my feet done (the tootsies have to be presentable!:D)

3. A little waxing here and there

4. Get my hair done (have to cover the grey!)

5. Buy new "cruise shoes". (whatever excuse works to go shoe shopping right? ;))

 

And off we go!
