Let’s be honest - the Caribbean has never been a primary market for HAL. It’s more a market they “have” to serve to be moderately in line with competing cruise lines.

With only 4 full season ships in the market, one of which is dedicated to partial Panama Canal sailings, they are really offering the minimum required.

HAL now only have 11 ships, and to maintain a worldwide portfolio choose to focus the bulk of their resources outside the Caribbean.

Just booked our 14th HAL cruise for January 2023 on the N. Statendam's Western Caribbean cruise as a birthday surprise for DH. If all goes right, it should be our first HAL cruise as 4 Star Mariners! We have 3 HAL cruises booked for 12/21, 2/22, and 4/22 - all suites for the double bonus days. Hope they all sail! We are fully vaccinated and ready to sail.
