No, you definitely wouldn't be able to go off the ship for dinner...... I think the idea is that they keep us in a bubble away from the locals so we don't pick up any virus!!

But the food on the ship is great! That much I do know from my previous Windstar experience. Better than anything I've had at restaurants in the Caribbean!!

We are looking forward to the cuisine on the ship and also the ports.

Our experiences are limited to large vessels like Celebrity and Royal.

I think with the latest guidance from the CDC yesterday mandatory shore excursions for vaccinated vessels will be a thing of the past. I am anxiously awaiting an update from Windstar on their website.

We are hoping beyond hope that our August 26 Tahiti cruise will be a go and have booked all Windstar excursions for the cruise.

What encouraging news the independent excursion thing would be for you if WS does permit. But "perhaps" is a lot better than "no". Your cruise is looking good and your Crystal cruise too. I'm getting all excited for you my friend!

The CDC does not have much pull in many cruise destinations. The various islands and countries will determine their own requirements.

Well aware of that. It's just a hopeful sign for many 🙂

Yes, it’s looking better and better all the time. If we are allowed independent excursions then it’s back to the drawing board with figuring out which ones we want to take. A lot of work but it will be so worth it.
