crdtrnr Posted April 23, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2021 Has anyone used the Dialysis at Sea? The only operate on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. Wondering how the experience was, and the cost? Thanks
stevea36 Posted April 23, 2021 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2021 Dialysis at sea is operated by a 3rd party, Who determines what cruises they want to offer the service on, reserves conference room space, and sells (resells) the necessary cabins and services at their own rates. I suggest that you go directly to their website (dialysisatsea.com) or call them at 800-544-7604

Sunshine3601 Posted April 23, 2021 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2021 I had a good friend that did peritoneal dialysis and he cruised all the time. We sailed with him a couple times. Royal was wonderful in handling all his supplies and bringing to the cabin and taking the old hoses, etc. away every morning. He would do his dialysis while sleeping and didn't stop him from enjoying his cruises.
ajm Posted April 26, 2021 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2021 I talked with a nurse at one of my dialysis appointments about it. She said that sometimes they will offer free cruises to nurses who volunteer to help run dialysis during the cruise. She said it was very well done from what she heard. I never went through with it since I received a transplant but it is definitely an option.
Rare Sailing12Away Posted April 27, 2021 #6 Share Posted April 27, 2021 I had no idea this was even an option, that's awesome. Will keep this in mind for my uncle once sailing returns to "normal" so he doesn't feel left out.
