I've not been to Portugal but my cancelled cruise from June 2020 departed from Lisbon.  It was to have stopped in Porto.  Since I have a voucher for the flight from SFO I am definitely still planning on going to Portugal!  I've already researched Lisbon and Porto so I think I will do a land/train trip when I go.  The pictures were all so inspiring!  Thanks!

@St. Louis SalI looked up your restaurant for your dinner tonight and see one in Town and Country.  Do you live in that general vicinity?  I lived a short distance away in Manderleigh of Town and Country for 8 years, then moved to a villa in Sappington in South County for 7 years.  The Manderleigh home built by Miceli Custom Homes was my favorite home ever.  We headed down south after DH's retirement to find a retirement home and ended up here in Georgia.

We are in Oakville, so closer to your Sappington villa. We only have the one Coopershawk in town and it’s pretty easy to get to. My daughters and I love that restaurant and go there quite a bit.

Did I read your sister is here in St Louis? We have a lot of good heart specialists so she should be in good hands. My husband was diagnosed in 2001 with severe coronary artery disease, he only has one fully functioning artery. At one time they considered him as a candidate for an artificial heart. His doctors have done a super job of caring for him, all of our cruises as well as our RV trip to Alaska and our trip to Iceland were after his diagnosis. His doctors are split between MoBap, Mercy and BJC, luckily they communicate with each other!

I will continue to pray for your sisters recovery.

P.S. the meal from Coopershawk was fantastic!

P.P.S. I typed this once and it disappeared. Hope there are not two floating around 🤞

Well, it’s been a long day. Our range decided to go out. After spending a lot of time and multiple phone calls, DH still has has to call someone tomorrow. You never really realize how much you use your range!

So the appliance curse is alive and well.   Sorry about your range.

Oakville is a nice area.  We never lived that far south but are well aware of the location.  We are Missouri natives from Florissant and Overland, who then moved out of state and all around the country for 24 years before being transferred back to St. Louis.  A lot of our family is still there.  Our two children live in other states though.

I will have to remember Coopershawk when we are in town.

My sister is in Missouri Baptist and her doctors did a great job.  I heard some concerning things about her progress Sunday night but am praying things look up today for her.   Waiting to hear more from her kids before we get too upset.  Your prayers, and everyone here who prays for her, are very much appreciated.

I am a Bellefontaine Neighbors girl, but Frank grew up south so we just naturally gravitated there. My daughters both live in St Charles now; that was farmland when I was growing up and I can’t quite get used to it’s current look. My high school class had a reunion in Cottleville recently. I was like, what’s out in Cottleville? Lots of development apparently 😁.

Missouri Baptist is a good place. Frank’s main cardiologist is there (Dr. Sewall). Hope your sister continues to make good progress today. Our hearts are such amazing organs and what doctors can do these days is unbelievable.

I hear you about St. Charles being farmland once upon a time.  I have a lot of family members in St. Charles and St. Peters.  Do you know where the huge quarry is at 270 and 70?  Back in about 1966 I dated a guy whose grandparents lived on a farm on that spot.  He tried teaching me how to drive a manual transmission car on that property so I wouldn't run into trouble out on the roads learning how to stop and start.  I wasn't very good at it at the time, though I am accomplished at driving a manual now.  Anyway, I never would have guess that area would be all dug up like that.  What in the world are they digging for there?  I hope somebody in his family made a lot of money selling that apparently very valuable plot of earth.🌎

Edited to say I looked at the area on Google maps and it seems there is an entrance that says Champ Landfill.  Wow!  I never knew that before.  I love looking at Google maps.
