Cruise Just Canceled

Well, my fifth cruise of the year just got canceled. I’m so disappointed. I really thought this one would sail. We were booked on the Gem sailing out of Dominican Republic at the end of August. Luckily Delta returned our miles we used to book. Had to cancel hotel in Punta Cana too.

I think this time I’m done trying to book a cruise until after ships really start sailing. Sigh

I held off booking this.  Kinda suspected it was going to happen.

I just got the Cancellation email too. I was on the Aug 29th cruise on the Gem. I guess I will try again.

I have a lot of FCC to use. I hope NCL gives us another Caribbean sailing alternative than just the Sky.

Definitely bummed about NCL canceling our Sept 19 Gem cruise. However, all we had “risked” was a CN deposit that’ll be returned. In anticipation, I booked us on the Norwegian Sky for the same week, using another CN as deposit. We aren’t really out any money. Life goes on and we’ll try again. After waiting more than a year to cruise again, I can wait some more. 
(however, the optics look really bad for NCL right now after boasting of their Return to Sail and then axing both the Joy and the Gem in rapid succession)

Glad I switched my sailing to the bliss in Alaska.  Had a feeling this would happen.  Sucks

Why is there no official announcement on NCL's website?  Their IT department took off before the long weekend?

There was an update today, but nothing about the Gem?

Fortunately, we have announced Return to Sail plans in Alaska and The Mediterranean for the remaining ships; Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Jade, and Norwegian Bliss! If you book into 2023 then those cruises are likely to go; why not take advantage of the excellent offer in the cancellation email.
