Taxi tours?

I wanted to take the photo shoot independent tour, but they are at this time not offering the 3 hour tour, just a day long one. Has anyone just hailed a taxi and taken a tour around the island for 2-3- hours? How easy is it to get a taxi? We walked around the lovely town last time we were there, but would like to see the rest of the island.

Did you ever get an answer to getting a taxi and doing a little bit of touring.  I'd like to see the donkey farm, salt pans & flamingos and get dropped off at Sorobon Beach.  Anybody know if we could get a taxi back to ship after spending time at beach?  Any restaurant, facilities, chair & umbrella rental at Sorobon Beach?
