Spirit Class 9A cabins - feedback requested

I'm interested in feedback from anyone who has stayed in a Spirit Class 9a cabin. Enjoy it? Was the extra space both inside and outside (larger balcony) worth it? How about location? Close proximity to elevators a problem? I posted this message yesterday but it seems to have disappeared.

Well, it was definitely worth it for me on Carnival Spirit Jan 2003 cuz I had paid for a 4A guarantee. There wasn't a fridge (maybe it was being repaired) but there was no way I would have complained. I thought it was a very spacious room and the balcony was wonderful...never heard a peep from the elevators.

Whats the difference in price and how many people are cruising with you?

I will only sail the aft. Its a longer walk to the elevators but thats ok. But usually for the price of a 9a which is always a few hundred $$ more then what I pay for an aft cabin I can be on the aft in a 8a. With a larger balcony-- only its not as large as a 9A. But with two people- how much room do you really need?

I like a lot of room. Besides, I started with an 8A GTY, was upgraded to an 8I assigned and now am being offered a 9A. I am wondering if I am better off with the 8I or 9A. It's really no big deal, the 8I is fine too.

As I recall there are very few 9A's. If you make this move and have it set up as a GTY it is slightly (repeat slightly) possible you will end up with a mid-ship 11 which is a REALLY nice cabin, but the balcony is smaller than the afts.

I was in an 8I on the Legend last month and it's not any different than the rest of the cat 8's (with the exception of those with the extended balcony). The only difference was the higher deck. On departure day, I got to peek inside a 9A. Take the upgrade!

Do you know what deck the 9A is on? I would take the 9A over an 8I. 8I is on the Panorama deck which is below the Lido deck which might be noisy. An 8I is 185 sq ft with a 60 sq ft balcony. The deluxe 9A's are 230 sq ft with an 85 ft balcony. There are only two of them per deck right near the aft elevators. Great upgrade!

Don't know what deck it is, but won't take any 9A with an obstructed view. There are a few.

I have a 9A on the Verendah deck booked for Aug on the Legend. Wanted the extra room with 2 adults and 2 kids in one room. If I could have gotten a 9A for the price of an 8A gty, that would have been awesome. I haven't heard of any 9A's or Suites having obstructed views. I doubt they would do that with the price people pay for those rooms. If you take the 9A, let us know how it was when you return!
