Waiter, assistant waiter, cooks, bus staff, dish washers. MDR, buffet, complimentary food outlets. Everyone gets a few cents of your $6.25 default gratuity. Bleueyes44 Posted July 1, 2021 #7 Share Posted July 1, 2021 When you board the ship go to guest relations they will provide you with a slip with tip breakdown. My brother- in -law absolutely will not paid in advance , nor will he have it put on account, so he gets the breakdown every time.

If cruising in Europe, does the staff prefer euro or usd? Thanks First, tipping on a ship, is a customary practice that is not based on the USA percentage process. It has always been a recommended predetermined amount. It's often times considered to be really low by USA standards, but for many on the ship, it is extremely high based on their home countries. The customary way of tipping in Europe, is way different than in the USA. Thus, it does not really matter what the breakdown is, just leave it alone. Next, if you tip extra, than of course they are happy, but it certainly is not required and should never be expected. Other question, is what currency? The ships operate on USD, so if a crew buys something on the ship, it is USD. Now, if they get off the ship, in Europe, they use EUR. There is no such thing as what do they prefer, whatever is in your pocket they will happily take from you.
