First Time Princess Cruisers

Now that Princess has done away with the loyalty OBC, the cruise credits don't matter much to me. Our goal was to make Elite by the time we retired so we would have the laundry benefit on longer cruises. We have only take a few of them since I retired in 2017.

The thing about the longer cruises is that a lot of other passengers are also Elite--nearly a thousand on our 2019 transatlantic. Thankfully we did not have any ports that required tendering on it. Having priority would not have done much good with so many others also having it.

On most of the cruises we have booked the Club Class Mini-Suite and look forward to the larger cabin/extra perks.

No real extra perks for Club Class mini-"suite" (except for the MDR). You basically get priority boarding (gone at least for now with the way they're doing the Medallion & the restart), a bottle of cut-rate "champagne" (read rot gut) and the Club Class dining.

Once you hit Elite, the perks are better, but have been reduced drastically since the restart. There are threads on here that detail the issues about the reduced Elite benefits.

We decided not to get club class mini suite... it seemed a lot just for club class dining. Not that we wouldn't enjoy it just that we felt it was worth the extra money. We went for a normal mini suite on our next 14 day cruise. It looks like a significant upgrade from a balcony grade.
