Canadian Passport Turn Around Time

Just a bit of positive news.

On the cruiselines forums there are many Americans commenting on how long it's taking to get their passports renewed.

I just got my son's passport renewed and we mailed it July 7th and it arrived July 29th.

I'm not sure what the turn around time will be later on but I was impressed at how fast it arrived.

As a note you can't go into the office to process your application. You have to mail it.

I am hoping they’ll give us all a free years extension.  Hahaha.

Well funny you should say that:

You now have extra time to renew your passport

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, we extended the eligibility period for Canadian passport renewals. You may be able to renew your passport if it expired on or after February 1, 2019.

This change lets you wait to renew your passport until you have plans to travel.

Answer a few questions to find out if you can renew your passport.

Now you always have to apply for a new passport if you are under 16, which is why I didnt' know how long it would take.
