Has Speciality Dining been selling out pre-cruise on Horizon?

Hi there, just curious if anyone who's cruised on the Horizon recently has noticed that the Specialty Dining Venues have been sold out once onboard? I've listened to a few vloggers on YouTube and it seems like they are even though the ships are sailing at reduced capacity.

 

Anyone have any recent experience?

We booked the steakhouse in advance and it was available the first day, but after that it was sold out.....the Teppankai (sp) was sold out before boarding.....book now....Monday and Thursday were formal; nights on the Southern Caribbean 8 day cruise....disappointed in the steak house on presentation and food......MDR rocked it!

I just checked to see if I could add Teppanyaki on 9/15 to our sailing (was previously unavailable but now shows available).  Went all the way thru to add .cc and bombed out.  Tried again & shows “all the passengers in all the bookings have a conflict”.  No idea what that means but I’m giving up on paid reservations with Carnival on this booking.

The website is jacked up. Stuff comes and goes on that page. I had Chef's Table show for twice on two different days and then it was gone. JiJi's just showed up, a month before he cruise

July 24 - Aug 2 if not showing it is sold out, but if it repost that means someone canceled.  The site is not jacked up, just the way it is.....the casino comp many free rooms and we found out they were booking with their OBC - tons of free cash floating with the high rollers....heck we even got a hundred thrown our way, please we had other credits....booked your execurtinsn early too!!!!

The website makes you pay to book, how do you change to onboard credit?

You have to book online and then go to GS after boarding and cancel the original Reservation and then going and booking it again onboard.

Can VIP Platinum board early? or is it the time on the boarding pass? THX

SAme time...no VI check in....suite and party guest first.....then group A's....but you can sign in 2 days earlier than others to secure an early check in time.....

We sailed Horizon 8/1.   As soon as we boarded, we walked to Bonsai and made reservations for Tuesday night.  They were not sold out yet even though it didn't show online availability.  There were only a few time slots left though, so if you wait, go straight there upon boarding.

Monday?  I thought it would have been Sunday with it being the first day at sea.

I stand corrected...Sunday was formal night and we had the steakhouse on Monday....my bad.....

Just got off Horizon on 8/7 and we didn't have an issue booking any dining reservations onboard the ship. We ate at every specialty restaurant with the exception of the steakhouse as it didn't have great reviews.

Was your cruise an 8 day?  Curious on what nights are formal since I'm hearing different days.

On 7/10 Horizon, everything except steakhouse. Chef's Table wasn't offered.
