August AOS Cruisers with kids under 12

Hi all,

Royal is driving me absolutely crazy with all these changes. It's insane. So question: I registered my 3 kids under 12 for the boarding antigen testing. No, even that wasn't easy. You can't use the link but need to copy/paste the reference ID in the website. Anyway, done. Received the email "Your sailing is around the corner! You have been pre-registered for your SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test.". Now this morning I'm getting another email in for them for PCR testing. I am absolutely confused. Do I need to re-register them again? Did Royal change the testing requirements?

Here's the email from this morning:

Dear Guest,

Here's your reminder to please schedule your boarding day PCR test for COVID-19, conducted by our medical services partner, Doctors Hospital. For your safety, all unvaccinated guests ages 2 to 11 years old are required to take this test during check-in on boarding day, along with an antigen test on day 5 or 6 of your cruise, which is required for re-entry into The Bahamas – we’ll share information onboard.

Remember you used to just pack your suitcases.  Then load the kids and bags in the car and just go on vacation?

Is all this really worth this when you come right down to it now?

Traveling abroad just isn't appealing  anymore.

I think the window may have closed for us and many others, we are lucky though we have been to alot of neat and beautiful places. I think it may be just better to cherish that and the memories and leave it at that.

If it was just the cruise I would cancel, but my kids are really looking forward to the entire trip.

Our travel party is all adults so vaccinated and I received that darn email about 10 times once they are registered just ignore the rest and don't let it frustrate you.🙂

We are all vaccinated too and kept getting the damn email.... had to search to find that it was not for vaccinated... Seems that they could have written this clearer considering everyone >12 must be vaccinated...

Agreed.  We sailed 6 weeks January-March 2020.  Glad we did because we have no interest in it now and no idea when we will again.  I'm amazed how many people are lining up for all the restrictions, protocols and risks.  More power to them.
