Travelling to Italy

Hey there! I'm travelling to Italy from the UK (direct flight) for a cruise (that leaves Italy for Croatia), if I am not staying in Italy, do I need to quarantine or do I class as transiting and therefore exempt?

The rules say there is an exemption for those transiting Italy in a private vehicle and leaving within 36 hours, which I would be. Hmm!

Well, I suppose if Italy's rules provide an exemption as you indicate, then you're presumably exempt (assuming your transit from airport to ship is in whatever they define as a "private vehicle").

If it was me, I would be asking the cruise line as, presumably, most passengers will not be Italians so will be similarly arriving in the country from other countries
