This is hilarious. Bid just accepted 2/7/22 -  $250 a person from B4 Balcony to S4 2-bedroom suite!

I am hoping that my sailing keeps going down the min bid for 2 bed has dropped to $400 person.

On the Joy sailing March 5th, the minimum bid for the Penthouse Suite has gone down to $125 pp.  I'm still holding out for the Haven, but that would be an outstanding deal! They're clearly having issues filling that category.  There's also a 2BR Family Suite without a balcony for less than that.  I wish that they would go ahead and accept one of my bids already.😃

That’s the hardest part: checking the bids constantly when the cruise is still 30

days away, hoping it gets accepted, but knowing deep down they aren’t going to let us know until the week before the cruise. My cruise is further into March, and while I’m in the Haven already, I put in bids for the 2BR and DOS (sold out). Right now, if a bid is accepted, I save a ton over booking rate on the Haven 2BR … and I can’t stop checking!

Any idea about the going rate for a DOS bid is? It's the only Haven still available on my cruise in 3 weeks. Range is 800-2100

You can do a fake booking to get the price of the DOS for your specific cruise. Just go to the NCL site and enter your details as if you were booking that room directly, and it will tell you. On our cruise on the Joy, the DOS is sold out, but bidding ranges are  higher.

New to NCL. Sailing in late May and received an upgrade email today. The minimum bids are pretty high right now and I'm wondering if it makes sense to bid this early or wait until closer to the sail date. I'm fine with the Club Balcony that we booked, but if we can upgrade for a great price, that would be a plus. Thoughts?

Yeah, I do that. It's running $16K for 2 people. I was asking if anyone has seen what the going bid for an upgrade is. I see a lot of  talk about poor to fair bids getting accepted, and I was wondering where successful DOS bids have landed.

Doesn't really seem to matter if you bid now or later. It seems as if 95% of the upgrades happen 5-10 days away from the cruise.

I just received an upgrade email.  We are booked for club balcony suite on Encore.  I am interested in bidding for the Haven Spa room.  I have never bid before.  Can someone tell me:

1.  Are Haven balconies good- large with no obstructions?  I love sitting and watching ocean and glacier from there.

2.  What is final cost - bid x 2 and any other charge?  I heard travel protection increases.

3.  Is dress code different for Haven area?  DH does not like to dress up.

Thank you!

I know my situation is probably unusual, but I was awarded my upgrade for a sailing on February 28th 39 days in advance.

What did you upgrade from/to?

From an aft facing club balcony, to a forward facing penthouse with large balcony. The minimum upgrade bid was $450. I bid $600. According to the meter, my bid was considered poor.

the sad part about haven is the balconies can be small. in a courtyard penthouse on BA , bliss and getaway as well as the 2 bedrooms, the balcony is the same as the normal balcony. the one deck on bliss is a bit bigger than the lower deck but still, very disappointing considering the pricing . unsure about the other ships since i havent been on them. when you go aft or DOS they are bigger though. def pays to watch videos.  but with pricing now so cheap  it's well worth getting in now before the virus is gone and pricing goes up.

Here's the OS ranges on the Escape in a couple of weeks (bid per person)

Has anyone had a bid accepted for the Bliss on 2/20 yet?  If so what kind of room did you have and what kind of room did you get upgraded to?  I have current bids for spa, spa club balcony, and some various haven suites.  Anyone know if they give any priority to C.A.S. guests?

getaway next month i booked 2 bedroom haven. only upgrade id want is the big corner room h2. def wont want the h3.

range is 800 to 2050 for bids. what does the magic 8 ball say if i bid 900. would someone in a lower cabin have to bid more to meet my 'bid' . in other words do they count the value of my purchased 2br in the equation and i have a better chance?

or since i'm in haven will they give a person with a standard room the upgrade to entice them for the future?

also since the dos is already sold out does that mean someone did buy it already. we are a month out. or is it possible they pulled it aside for bids?

We got the upgrade email. There was nothing worth considering to move from our balcony room. I should have thought about doing the cheapest inside cabin and see if we could have upgraded to a balcony for less. No big deal because we are in a room we want.

Thinking the same as you are. We have a balcony and hope to get the upgrade-email soon enough but both of us said that the bids needs to be very low for being worth it to upgrade really. We have an amazing room and we rather go on a second cruise than upgrade to the Haven 🙂

After bidding on all of the categories that I was interested in a couple of weeks ago, I got tired of waiting and contacted Casinos at Sea to see what the upgrade fee would be straight up.  It turned out that we could go from our Balcony to a Haven Penthouse for $1300 for both of us including the additional insurance.   We also got to choose our cabin, so we have one of the angled balconies.  I don't do well with the unknown, so even if it worked out to be a slightly lesser bargain, I'm happy with my decision.  It's over.  Phew!  We were already getting a great rate, so all in it was $1000 per person plus the admin fee, taxes, gratuities, etc.  to sail in the Haven for 7 nights, about half the price of booking it today.
