Had a little bit of good news this morning.

Carnival finally announced December protocols and of course nothing changed.

I called and was on hold for maybe 20 minutes.

I am getting a full refund for everything, including the non refundable deposit.

I am also getting a full refund for my non refundable airfare.

Very happy.

I"m cranky I can't cruise but at least I am not out $1200 CAD.

What are the protocols that are the issue?   I don’t know any of the protocols for Carnival.   Did they just announce recently?

Hello my fellow Ottawaan? (not sure that what we're called).

I have a mixed dose and thus am considered unvaccinated in the eyes of the CDC.

I had a cruise out of Miami booked for Christmas.

Last week they announced that unless you were under 12 they were not allowing unvaccinated adults on a cruise out of Miami (and other ports) due to the changes in the Bahamas rules (only vaccinated SHIPS).

I wasn't allowed to cancel until the protocols were announced (and they haven't changed - vaccinated, masks, antigen test precruise, under 12 apply for an exemption, etc).

So protocols were announced and I was allowed to cancel.

So yeah it was a big announcement from Carnival where they extended the protocols, cancelled a bunch of cruises, moved a bunch of cruise ships.

Yep. I had done that because I was going to be flying in that day and didn't want to chance it.

Whats great is that if i had booked through Air Canada I would have only gotten a travel credit.

@K_e_short   That totally sucks.   Any chance you can get another vaccine shot of the same?   Total bs if you ask me.    What will really suck is that if all these people cancel their cruises and then someone decides it’s ok and they could have went.

Hope you get to cruise soon.

Ontario is not giving out third shots anytime soon.

I'm fine with not cruising now.

We have a 12 day Carnival Iceland and a 7 day Cunard Transatlantic with 7 days in Paris/London/???? planned for next summer.

I will spend the year saving up.

We are doing an all inclusive for March Break. I will be upset if that is cancelled. I hate winter and the darkness and cold really gets to my mental health so a tropical location is always needed then.
