K_e_short Posted September 2, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2021 I had booked a casino offer and called this morning to get a refund. I'm Canadian and am not considered vaccinated in the eyes of the CDC. So I called the casino number and was on hold for maybe 20 minutes. I am getting my $200 non refundable deposit back. I am getting the $1000 I paid for non refundable restricted flights back. I had already requested a refund for the two FunShops purchases. It is a relief that I am not out money and I don't have to deal with FCC. I know it will take a while for my money to get to me but I'm o.k with that. 4

Brkintx Posted September 2, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2021 When was the cruise you canceled scheduled? I'm booked on the Splendor out of Syndey, AUS next May, and my read of the tea leaves is that that trip will cancel (though they are booking cruises in Dec 2021, Aussie government officials are routinely quoted as saying they believe the borders will open - specifically to international tourists - in mid to late 2022. I thought my deposit would be tied up until they officially cancel it (guessing spring 2022). If there's a possibility they will allow a full cancel now..... I'll take it and book another US based one in it's stead. 😄

If you get a no the first time, call back a few minutes later and ask for a supervisor. Sometimes the original CSR takes the easy way out and just says no.

I'll be calling the casino department, does that guidance still apply? (I can easily choose another date if the offers extend that far)

I knew I had to cancel as they are not allowing unvaccinated for cruises out of Miami (for the Bahamas). They would not allow me to cancel until the protocols were officially announced. So unfortunately you can try to call and ask but they will not give you your full deposit back until the protocols are officially announced and you can not cruise, or they cancel the cruise. There are a few others on here who had their Oct/Nov cruises cancelled and were not allowed to cancel until now. The only reason I got all my money back was because of the protocols.
