I would like to bring my own water kettle. Does anyone know from experience if the power in the room has enough current to support one?

You can take one...but you will have to pick it up at the "naughty table" when you disembark.  The staff will carefully retain your property until the end of the cruise.

In 2019 we did B2B on the QM2. Cunard does have kettles in the cabin, and I thought I would like having that for my morning tea. As it turned out, we never used it and it just got in the way, taking up space we could have used otherwise. And the buffet had a much better selection of tea.

No Problem - You can probably just take your portable gas grill and use it on the balcony...

Love this and, of course, a fellow "Texan" would have this solution.  So, instead of tailgating it's balcony-gating.  LOL!   Enjoy cruising!
