Carnival app and internet plans

Normally we put our phones in the safe and enjoy being unplugged during a cruise, however, during Covid it seems that making dinner reservations and viewing menus is available through the Carnival Hub App. I looked at the 3 levels of plans and none mentioned the ability to use the Hub App. Has anyone purchased the Social level internet plan and been able to use the Hub App?

If you have done carnival before, the carnival site has always been accessible. That's all you need to access the hub app.

 

If you want to message it costs $5 pp. 

 

The app is free.

You DO NOT need to purchase an internet plan to use the hub app (but there's a $5 charge if you want to use the Hub App to message each other).

You do not have to purchase a internet package to use the hub if you do not wish to. The hub works without the purchase of an internet package.  Just make sure you also put your phone on airplane & you can work the hub without being disturbed by your phone & no extra charges. My phone seems to have to be charged more often while on the ship & using their app. The app just drains it.

Thanks for your replies. I thought it was a little nickel and dimeing to ask us to use an app but then have to purchase an internet plan.

the hub is great. did the 5 dollar a person/week for family of 4 and 2 grandparents on the pride. WORTH IT. we did not purchase any internet plans and felt "unplugged".
