The weather just went  bad on us.  We’re supposed to land Ponte Delgado at 0700.  Had a jeep set up to go into the crater.  Well, it’s 0750 and we put our rudder to the island.  

No announcement by crew or ship officers…..

Looks like we are headed to the Canaries.  Two sea days.

Addendum:  Captain made announcement at 0800.  Weather too extreme to safely dock.  He seemed confused as to where we would be going next and when.  Apparently he intends to sail by La Palma to see ongoing volcano eruption.  

This makes three port calls missed on this cruise.

Yea, we know what the contract says, but the onboard confusion is ridiculous. Captain  repeatedly mis identified where the volcano is and the expected time of passage (2:30 PM then 2:30 AM) in one or two days.

The CD didn’t make his daily morning announcement.  All wondering what’s going to happen.

Good morning. The Cd did make his announcement about 9:30. I was sitting in Dolce Vita when he spoke.

What is ridiculous is how the Captain did know his geography or timing of the route.  He kept contradicting himself on time at La Palma.

And the Capt corrected himself and spoke again around noon.
