Binax NOW Covid test expiration dates

If anyone has ordered the home test kits recently what expiration dates are you seeing?

I got some a few weeks ago and they're showing an expiration date of 9/21/2021, and according to a notice that came with them an FDA extension extends that date three months (to December 21).  These of course will be ok for our November and December cruises, but we also have a cruise scheduled for early next year so I'll need to wait until some newer test kits are available before ordering for that one.

I ordered mine in October for our January cruise, and they were already expired when I got them (9/21), the girl from Optum said they expire in December- which doesn’t help me. I did find this below saying they expire 12 months from the date of manufacture (mine was manufactured January 26, 2021) so I think I should be okay. I will still book tests at Walgreens and CVS, though😩

Your test kits expire in December.

So it doesn't sound like anyone has received a test kit with an expiration past this December yet.

Mine expires Jan 4, 2022 ( including the 3 month extension).  Original was 10/4/2021

Hmmmm - Where did that graphic come from??

It does not seem to match the data on the eMed site

The Lot number on that label is 137428D. If I look at the data on the eMed letter for Extension :

https://www.emed.com/hubfs/Case 01269955-COL-03030 BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag Home Test Product Expiry Update - Customer Letter EN - US.pdf?hsLang=en

Which has the extension listed by Lot Number:

Case%2001269955-COL-03030%20BinaxNOW%E2%

and look at that specific lot number (137428D it shows the original Expiration dates with the New Expiration dates of 12/8/21 (NOT the 12/27/21 date the graphic seems to indicate).

Sooo - Where did that graphic you showed come from??

I am just trying to figure this out for myself - I have a set of Home test kits that expire just before my test date for my cruise in January, If it is truly 12 months from manufacture - I can use them, if it is 3 months extension from the original expiration date - then  I will need to procure more current packages.

My suspicion is the original expiration date is based on when the chemicals were concocted (and defined the chemical expiration date), vs the date of manufacture is when the packages were all put together and ready to ship out the door (but I am just  guessing).

My kits were just delivered to me.  Expiration 9/21 with the 3 month extension.

My cruise is December 4, so will be good for that cruise only.

I ordered a few weeks earlier than planned, just because I keep hearing "shortage" and after a two year wait for the cruise after so many cancellations, I am not going to let testing be the thing that keeps me from cruising.  Ugh!

Yes - Conflicting information - The question is - You you gonna think is more right -  The FDA and the Company that makes the product (see the links I provided), or the Madison County Health Department.

Personally - I am gonna bet my cruise on the FDA and Abbott.

Yes - I know it is a bit shocking to find conflicting information on the internet - but - there it is.

But I do thank you for that information - Now I know the source of that information graph. I have send a letter to the Madison County Health Dept to have them review if they have the correct data shown on their graphic.
