Port Canaveral: On-site vs Off-site Parking question

I have a great rate for Park Port Canaveral. We are driving in but will not use their shuttle. With that being said, the Uber and parking will only be about $50 versus on-site parking. We debark Thanksgiving Sunday which means traffic is going to be tough for our 9-hour commute home.

From a pure convenience perspective and getting on the road maybe 30 minutes earlier, would it be better to park at the port terminal?

We are parking at the port too. Yes it is a little bit more expensive but the offsite shuttles do not run until after our arrival time. Our plan is to drop luggage off, wife and daughter head to the line, park the car, then meet up with them in line a few minutes later. Also read about the massive line at the Magic terminal filled with people from much later arrival times just showing up to clog the terminal. We want to try to avoid that as much as possible.
