But they shouldn't know at this point if they got the vaccine or placebo, as it'd corrupt the ongoing trial.

some of them already know. A parent on a different forum reported being told ahead of schedule that their kid was, in fact, fully vaccinated (instead of being in a placebo group). I guess now that the shots were emergency approved for 5-11 kids, keeping it a secret is no longer needed. Additionally, the parent would need to know whether to get their kid vaxxed or not.

But that ruins the opportunity for longer term safety data.

They're designed differently with kids... Not blinded in the sense that you're suggesting here.

It's either been recently unblinded or about to be.

No matter your view on kid vaccines, RC really needs to update their stuff to acknowledge 5-11s that are fully vaccinated as such.

RCCL definitely does and probably will soon. Other than kids who participated in trials or got the vaccine off label the majority of the kids in the United States started receiving the vaccine no earlier than 11/4. Given the time between shots and then factoring in the extra 14 days from the second shot RCCL has a bit more than a month to get their info updated before fully vaccinated kids may start showing up to cruises.

I just spoke with customer service.  They are actively working on this.  The agent stated that they will have an update to the app by the end of November allowing 5-11 y.o. passenger vax cards to be uploaded.  Once verified they will be part of the vaxxed group and will not have to commit to a RCL tour or a bubble tour.

How is that? Those who are unblinded are still being monitored for potential side effects by those running the trials. I think you are confusing "safety" with "efficacy"? Efficacy data can now be skewed, absolutely, but the efficacy of these shots isn't the concern, safety monitoring is and that doesn't change being unblinded and that has been the main priority of the trials. The 10mcg dosage efficacy is pretty clear at this point. The trials only continued in kids longer to ensure safety studies.
