Brilliance OTS in Tampa

Recommended Posts

Other ships did something similar before they started up.  They moved from where they had been hanging out during the shutdown and began going into their future home port for supplies and crew additions.  Certain ships started taking on crew and supplies in Ft. Lauderdale, others in Port Canaveral for example.

I am close to Port Canaveral and this past summer I was often eating lunch at the port.  Ships would come in then dozens and dozens of crew would board in batches.  Then the ship would leave for a week or so.  A week or so later they'd do it again.  Also during these stops crews were getting vaccinated.

If Brilliance follows this pattern it's likely for the same reasons that other ships did the same before they restarted.

There may be some reason why its required or advantageous or encouraged by the future home port to do so.

Indy did this in Galveston.  Allure and Mariner did this in Port Canaveral.  Odyssey did it in Ft. Lauderdale.  Symphony and Freedom kept going into Miami where they eventually sailed from.

Isn't there a thing about ships getting provisioned in their home port? Don't know if it's a rule or a nice to have.

Suppose they do need to work out the kinks in resupplying the vessel before taking on a full complement.

If we see Brilliance doing the same pattern, port then float for a week, then port, then float for week, etc. we'll know there is something to it.
