For some it may seem like a LOT of money.  My economic thoughts are simple:

OP felt it was a great deal, and that’s what matters.

For a four night cruise, it is an extra $162.50 per person per night for the upgrade from JS to OS. Worth it to some, probably not to others.  The bidding sorts that out.

Sorry, I was "up in the air" traveling to Miami all day long!
