Not sure which tour you're talking about. Maybe go to the RCI site or try the roll call for your cruise. There is also a Hop on/Hop off bus that does tours if that's what your asking about.

I would suggest the hop on/hop off. I know Athens had one (we took a taxi to the Acropolis) and so did several Greek ports we visited. You want to see multiple things on each port, so much to see!, it made a great way and fairly inexpensive way to get around.

Does the open top bus come out to Pireas Port to pick up? Where would you get off to get taxi up to the Acrpolis?  Thanks

The ho-ho bus does come to the port.  Taxis are available right by the piers where you disembark if you choose not to take the bus.

Here is the ho-ho bus website:

https://city-sightseeing.com/en/43/athens/53/hop-on-hop-off-athens

Scroll down to see the maps and click between the green and red lines.

Note that it does stop at the cruise terminals and it takes you as far to the Acropolis, but you have to change to a different bus to see other sites in Athens.

My experience - a few years back - was that one of the ho-ho operators has two routes......

- one route runs from Piraeus close to the cruise berths to Syntagma Square in the centre of Athens near the Parliament building, open-air double-deckers but broadly a shuttle service. Some (perhaps all) buses on that route go via the Acropolis - we hopped off there & climbed the Acropolis (that's the best time of day to do it, on really hot days its closed in the afternoon). From there we walked past the Acropolis Museum  (not our scene, might be yours) to Hadrin's Arch, the Panathinaikou stadium & other sights.

- we then took the second ho-ho route, the city route. This we found pretty boring, & got off when it returned close to the start point at the Plaka. Well worth wandering Plaka - some ancient sights and lots of little shops & bars. The Plaka is only a short walk from Syntagma Square, so no need of the city ho-ho bus.

- Finally we returned to Piraeus on the ho-ho.

You can buy one route or the other, or buy the pair.

Since our visit a silly-cheap express bus service was set up for Piraeus to Athens - that's probbly what we'd use now.

There's a metro service from Piraeus to Athens, but the station is a fair walk from the cruise berths.

In mid-April, We will be staying in Athens for 1 day after our cruise.  Our hotel is near the Plaka area, and I saw on the HOHO bus website there is a HOHO bus stop at Syntagma Square.  The website indicates stop #4 is "The Acropolis...".  Does the HOHO bus stop up the hill by the ticket booth/entrance to the Acropolis or still a long walk from the bus stop to the Acropolis entrance?
