Booked refundable deposit, changing to NonRefundable before final payment???

I paid handsomely for a refundable deposit For our spring 2022 cruise. I have seen on these boards people mentioning changing to nonrefundable deposit just before final payment.

My question is ... How???

When I call my TA is the booking ,

>> completely redone at current prices?

>> Simply changed to nonrefundable and $ , removed from balance due ?

>> Or something else ???

You will pay whatever the nonrenewable rate is at the time that you call
