Using separate cards on slots in RCCL

Hi everyone, forgive me if I am asking the obvious or something that has been asked 10 times, but this world is all new to us.  My wife and I are cruising for the first time on RCCL on Jan 20, 2022.  We are exclusively slot players and were both assigned a Crown and anchor account when we reserved the cruise.  My question is for slot play are our accounts linked or do we use our own cards?  We are MLife members and our accounts are linked, but with El Dorado they are not, although we just use 2 cards on my account.  I am not sure what the protocol is on a RCCL cruise.  Thanks all!

They are not linked in the casino onboard, so one or both of you may have free drinks in the casino.  I have found they don’t mind spouses ordering free drinks for the other.  It helps to pick your favorite server and give them a nice tip upfront.

Thanks for the info, as for drinks, we will have a deluxe beverage package so we are set there.  As for points accumulation though I assume each of us have separate point totals?

Correct.  Since you already have the drink package, the host might treat you to the steakhouse or spa.

We will use our individual cards at the tables and to achieve our annual tier status and then use one of our cards the majority of the time in order to gain enough points on the cruise for a comp.  If we get a comp for the active card and a $ off for the less active card, we will often combine the awards (it is permitted) for additional $ off on an upgrade.

That explains it.  I assume that a spouse using the others card while playing slots isn't frowned upon?

Yes it is frowned upon, unless both of you are sitting there together.  Remember it is your room key, your ID and your credit 💳 all wrapped up in one.  So not like a casino where you can get duplicate cards.
