Cellar Master Wine Package Question

Is it better to pre-purchase before the cruise, or will the price be the same on board?  I realize there is no mariner discount on this package.  I may just opt to do a straight wine package, and forgo the Pinnacle and wine tastings... Still debating.  Is the special "Holland America gift bottle of wine" anything special?

I ordered the C1 package on our cruise once I was onboard. There was no difference in the price from the pre-cruise price. I waited so I could see what wines were available, several wines listed were not.

 

We did received 25% off the package for 3* discount. You do not get it when ordering online before boarding but it is credited back to you once onboard. I had read about people not getting the discount automatically once onboard so I didn't want to spend time straightening that out. That was another reason I waited. I don't think a discount is available for the next higher wine page the Sommelier Package.
