gatorchinsky Posted November 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2021 I was just wondering, from those who recently have sailed out of Miami, how long of a wait to get through the COVID testing lines? Also, what do you think would be the worst time to schedule arrival time? TIA!
Rare BirdTravels Posted November 28, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2021 Sounds like you're planning for the future. Just remember that after January 17, you are responsible for doing your own test (within 2 days of departure) and brining it to the terminal.

Actually we sail December 18th so we will be tested at the pier. We live in Florida and will drive down to Miami that morning but wanted to get an idea of how early a time we should pick or does it really matter. Not port specific but personally I would recommend the earlier the better. As time goes on, the longer the process takes. Just because more people will take longer getting the correct papers and stuff ready.
Katieniesen Posted November 29, 2021 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2021 Just went thru the process last Sunday. Line very short. There was only one couple in front of us. Swab took less than 5 mins, test results came in about 20 mins. Super quick and efficient.

Also, Can you tell us what time you were scheduled? Thanks!
detwings Posted November 29, 2021 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2021 COVID is done in the basement of the new terminal where the baggage collection usually is.. They do not open the doors till 9:00 am for testing, give or take 5 to 10 minutes earlier. It was a good process and alot of CVS people/tables set up. After your test, they direct you to the chairs to sit and wait. They have a large projection screen on the wall set up to look for your name/number that you passed. Once you pass your test, raise your hand when you see your name, they come to you to verify who you are, put a band on your wrist, then you go inside the terminal to check in/go thru security, etc. sit and wait till boarding.

jerrib Posted December 1, 2021 #11 Share Posted December 1, 2021 Need to add, this was the first sailing, no waiting for previous cruisers to disembark, so not a fair prediction of future timing.
