seeking feedback from people who have stayed at Port Everglades area hotels recently

I'm booked at Hilton Ft.Lauderdale marina hotel for April, and have been reading quite a few negative reviews on TripAdvisor.

Looking for feedback on people who have stayed there recently, as well as other hotels in the area.

Many thanks!

Recent reviews as well as not so recent reviews say avoid the Embassy Suites...very tired looking still. Very sad as this was always our go to hotel. We now stay at Hyatt Place just behind ES and next to the Harbor shopping center that has a Publix market, shops and restaurants.

We love the Harbor area. No need to get a car. Everything is walkable.

Have stayed at Embassy many times, including a month ago.  Pretty typical of Florida hotels.  Booked it again for next April.  Hyatt Place is also convenient to Harbor Shops and decent breakfast.  Hilton has better swimming pool area but doesn't include breakfast.  We book whichever is cheapest.

Absolutely a no-go at the Embassy Suites unless there have been some major changes. Our last stay there pre-covid by a few months was abysmal.

Our go to is the Renaissance on 17th.  Or most recent experience was 9/2021.  It was very quiet.  Noticed a slight musty smell in the room this time around

good area to stay, close to port and restaurants and some stores within walking distance.

I’m confused. What does the Embassy Suites have to do with the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale? Is it the same hotel but with a different name?

Embassy Suites is a Hilton property trademark.

Hilton Fort Lauderdale Hotel is not the ES.

They are different hotels and location.

The OP also specifically asked for information on other hotels in the area
