That's true, but...if you go to Chibang or Cucina early in the day and request seating then show up at that time (say 5:30P) you'll get seated.  Usually plenty of room.   They primarily want this currently "free" dining spots to be available for YTD people so the YTD MDR on deck 7 doesn't get overwhelmed.

In previous cruises where I had early dining time, it always showed the time in the app. This time I had MyTime so of course, no time showed in the app.

Have never seen any dining on Carnival at 500.  Many venues open at 530 for YTD and have seen set dining at 545 or 600, but this was before YTD came into effect.
