Kiwi Kruzer Posted February 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Hi everyone. Just an update on Statendam in New Zealand. It has just been announced on the local news that Statendam had to cancel her call to Napier today due to heavy ocean swells. She entered the port and attempted to dock, but it was too dangerous and so the call was cancelled. Napier is exposed to the east and that is where the heavy swells were coming from. It is a real shame for the passengers as Napier is a delightful highlight of the cruise. David. Aussie Gal Posted February 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2006 David, Have you decided yet on the Veendam cruise up the Amazon in September? It would be fun if you were on the cruise. Jennie

jhannah Posted February 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Mother Nature always holds the trump card, doesn't she? Too bad they had to miss a lovely port call. But safety must be paramount. I hope the rest of their journey is uneventful.
