AMCJavelin Posted December 13, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2021 Sailing out of Port Canaveral on Independence of the Seas March 4, 2022. Anyone have recommendations for where to get a pre cruise test near Port Canaveral? We will be in Cocoa Beach for 2 days prior to this short cruise so pretty much have to test near the Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach area. We are both vaxed and boosted. Have seen other posts with good reviews of Walgreens in Tampa and Ft Lauderdale. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
sjb317 Posted December 13, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2021 We’ve had good experiences with Walgreen’s testing here in Brevard county. Appointments can be made online about 5 days before. The ID Now test is easy to do and we had emails with results about 45 min after testing. There was no charge. Sherri🙂
jalves Posted December 13, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2021 I'd go to the Walgreen website and take a look at the locations near Port Canaveral. We live in Orlando and got our tests at a local Walgreen before our 10/31 cruise. Will do the same before out January cruise.
Journey2016 Posted December 13, 2021 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2021 We ordered the test from RCCL. You do it by cell phone. It takes 15 minutes. Painless, easy, done.
AMCJavelin Posted December 13, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted December 13, 2021 Thanks! I appreciate the suggestions! Hoping that by March 4 the rules change again and we won't need to be tested 🙂
GTO-Girl Posted December 13, 2021 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2021 We always come to Canaveral two days early before our cruise. We do the at home proctored test, print our results, load the car and drive to Florida. It’s the easiest thing for us…..we have done it three times now
zellmo Posted December 13, 2021 #7 Share Posted December 13, 2021 GTO Girl, I have a question for you off the topic. I was wondering where you stay at Port Canaveral before your cruise. I am looking at Holiday Inn club vacations, they have 2 bedroom villas which would be good, there are 14 of us going. Open to any suggestions, Thanks
Rare twangster Posted December 13, 2021 #8 Share Posted December 13, 2021 Merritt Square Mall has been offering testing on a walk up basis. That's about 8 miles from the port, 15 minutes by car. Not sure they will still offer it in March but who knows?
