darstamp Posted December 20, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2021 Found this while scrolling around the HAL website today. As our restart protocols continue to evolve, we are lifting the moratorium on oxygen concentrators effective immediately. While we welcome guests who use oxygen concentrators, we are currently unable to accept guests who use oxygen tanks or are on dialysis for cruises through March 2022. We remain optimistic that our approach on future sailings will become more flexible. It was undated so I don't know when it came into effect. What I do know is that it is frustrating that HAL buries this kind of information instead of making it front and centre. Given the Omicron concerns, who knows how long this moratorium will stand but I will keep checking.
Rare zgscl Posted December 20, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2021 That is big news for Oxygen users, thanks for sharing!
Seasick Sailor Posted December 20, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2021 The notice has been around since HAL began to set sail in Alaska this spring. I know it is frustrating for oxygen users, but difficult to ask HAL to post concerns front and center for each affected individual in different categories. I believe there's a thread from months ago that addresses the oxygen concern.
