Now that there are over 50 crew members infected (made public by Royal) and at least 60 reported by other CruiseCritic members on the forum, does Royal go ahead and cancel the December 26th NYE sailing proactively? The crew infections are only likely to get worse.

We all have to learn to live with this virus.  As long as there are cases on land there is the potential for cases on ships.  Zero cases on a ship is not attainable right now, even the CDC acknowledges this.

No, they should not cancel the cruise.  Individuals can decide to cancel their cruise if they are not comfortable.

They might run out of crew at this rate!

I think you are correct in this. I would think there are way more cases on land then there is on cruise ships. In our area in the last week I have heard of many testing positive. In fact they have said if one in household tests positive the whole household should assume they have it too and isolate and don’t want them going for tests.

That's why they have "Cruise With Confidence".  If you don't feel comfortable, you can cancel and rebook for next New Year's Eve.

At prevailing current rates and promotions. There is no more lift and shift option so some people will likely end up paying a whole lot more if they wanted to move to next year’s NYE cruise.
