Really consider the RCI itinerary Radiance is a great ship and that itinerary is a favorite of ours but we do prefer doing it the North Bound instead. We are looking at the Radiance on a Southbound cruise mid July 2022. I wanted to fly in early and spend 5-7 days pre cruise exploring. Why do you prefer North bound? cruisn43 Posted February 5, 2022 #27 Share Posted February 5, 2022 @taylortime05You will find people who prefer Northbound and others who prefer Southbound. We did a ton of research before our cruise in 2019. We decided to fly to Alaska pre-cruise. We rented a car and stayed 4 nights in the Palmer area. We took the cruise line transfer from the Anchorage airport to the ship. At the end of the southbound cruise we added a few nights and drove up to Whistler before flying back home. We have done both north and south bound itineraries, including twice as a B2B, and don't have any preference. Your plan of flying to Alaska to spend some time on a land trip is a good idea. nini Posted February 7, 2022 #29 Share Posted February 7, 2022 We do not care for HAL and Princess does a fabulous job in Alaska, having nature commentators onboard. IMHO, HAL would be quiet and boring.
