4 Jan VIFP / Casino offer refresh

I booked a couple of great offers last night that were expiring - drinks everywhere with FreePlay, valid from June 2022 on - and figured it'd be a bit before the offers refreshed.

Instead, I woke to new offers!  They aren't quite as good (for a drinker like myself) because they only include drinks in the casino, but they're still better than anything we've ever received before we tried to tempt the player's club.  I suspect our downgraded offers were because the much smaller play from our October Mardi Gras trip got averaged in with our (still not heavy) play from our September Sunrise trip.

What are you all seeing?  Are they still giving out the OV8 ($200 deposit returned as OBC) for no gamblers? That was an excellent one for last minute trips - identical to most of my casino offers, the only thing 'extra' we're getting is the casino drinks.  We have one offer with some Freeplay that we'll try to figure out how to book - I'll call the players club at some point and see how many uses we were given for each code.

I wish we had done that (but our schedule is just too uncertain right now).  Our free cruise offer (or I guess I should say, $200 deposit returned as OBC) expired and didn't get any new ones.  Still have OTM and P8V casino offers available, and they are okay deals, but not as good.  It's so hard to let those expire, but when you have to add in airfare (Seattle is the only port we can drive to) which is incredibly high right now, it's a tough decision.

My offers look pretty much the same.   The dates by which we have to book were extended a bit.

Interesting, most of my old offers were only good from June onwards, and now they're good starting immediately.  I'm starting to think I'll never understand their algorithm lol

My jackpot offers went from balcony and oceanview, to interior. Pretty big downgrade there. We were afraid of that so we booked this weekend.

The plan now, pay later and hot streak bonus seemed to stay about the same.

Thank you guys for your data points - I continue to be fascinated by how Carnival handles their targeting.

I washed to give an update, since I'd said that my offers looked more or less the same, just with DOU in the casino as opposed to everywhere.  I was totally mistaken.  Once I started actually checking out prices, the selected sailings for the 'good' codes are only valid for a significantly smaller pool of sailings - not a single Alaska or Europe sailing is included now, and no MG/Celebration sailings after February.  On just those three, we saved nearly ten thousand dollars by booking under the old promos - plus our deposits are refunded as OBC, we got some extra FreePlay, and we got the better drink package.

Basically, our casino offers are only excellent on already cheap cruises now - even the best of the offers will only get used if we find ourselves able to sail in March.
